This is the game that started it all. In Metroid, Samus Aran is dispatched to planet Zebes to destroy the mechanical lifeform Mother Brain, as well as exterminate all the mysterious lifeforms known as the Metroids. This game, which featured 8-bit graphics (which were top pf the line at the time), started one of Nintendo's most profitable and popular franchises.

The sequel to the original metroid. This one too has 8-bit graphics, and is played on the Gameboy. This time Samus must hunt down the metroids on their home planet, SR-388.

The sequel to Metroid Prime, Samus crashlands on the planet Aether, a planet that has been torn in between two dimensions. On Aether, Samus must hunt down shadowy creatures from the other dimension. MP2's graphics are the same, if not better than Metroid Prime's.

The first spin off of the series, Metroid Prime Pinball plays for the DS. The basic storyline is the same as Metroid Prime, but instead the game is played almost entirely from the morphball.

Metroid Prime Hunters is the first Metroid game to be made for the Nintendo DS. Samus is sent to the Alimbic Cluster to find the meaning of a strange message, speaking of an Ultimate Power. However, Samus isn't the only one in the Alimbic Cluster. The message has attracted the attention of multiple Bounty Hunters, who all want to claim the power for themselves.

The last of the Prime trilogy, and the first Metroid game on the Nintendo Wii, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption takes place about 6 months after the events of Prime 2, where Dark Samus and the space pirates have declared war on the Galactic Federation and are planting phazon corrupted seeds acroos the galaxy, and it's up Samus, once again, to stop them.

With Metroid Prime 3: Corruption bring so much success to the Wii, Nintendo released all three of the Metroid Prime games on one disc for the Wii. Not much is known at this time, but we'll bring you more information as it comes.
